Saffron Neighbourhood Management Programme (Leicester
City Council): Establishing and developing a Participatory Budgeting
programme and Volunteer Celebration.
This work included:
- Researching and developing a methodology for the participatory
budgeting exercise, based on the governments Participatory Budgeting Unit’s
guidelines and experience.
- Working alongside the Neighbourhood Board to establishing a criteria
for selection for funding requests to go forward to the public vote
- Seeking additional funds to support the hosting of the event and to add
to the funds available to the budgeting process
- Consulting local groups and residents to gain a list of local
volunteers
- Staging an evening event, providing entertainment, catering and
management.
