Community Enterprises
Established a community communications social enterprise and an annual
summer fete. (This work was carried out
as part of a Leicester City Council programme.)
This work included:
- Mapping out need for the service based on local services communication
needs
- Writing a business plan including staffing needs and a cash-flow
forecast
- Establishing a delivery service, a community website, a children’s
summer activities calendar, and a local services directory
- Laying down the pathway for the establishment of a local trades
directory
- Developing a summer fete, as a showcase and fundraising opportunity for
local organisations as well as a community focal point for residents
- Involving local service providers such as the police, local authority,
health service, children’s centre and voluntary sector organisations to come
together to provide an event for the community
